New South Wales Government Releases Cogeneration & Trigeneration Feasibility Guide
The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage has launched a comprehensive guide to help businesses reduce energy costs through the implementation of Cogeneration & Trigeneration.
Cogeneration and Trigeneration is a cutting edge technology that can reduce energy costs by up 60% and cut carbon emissions by half. Cogeneration uses cleaner and cheaper energy sources such as natural gas or biogas to produce electricity on site with “free” heating as a by-product. Trigeneration is the combination of a Cogeneration System with an absorption chiller, which produces electricity on site, with free heating and cooling.
The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Energy Saver’s team worked closely with industry experts, including consultant engineers and suppliers to compile its first major piece of work delivered under the Australian Government’s Energy Efficiency Action Plan.
The Cogeneration Feasibility Guide offers a complete guide for implementing Cogeneration, including system sizing, connection to the electricity grid and gas network, forecasts on gas and electricity prices, regulatory approvals, installation, operation and maintenance.
